A public commitment

The UELF Pledge of Statesmanship

A voluntary commitment by aspiring and current leaders to place character before influence, service above self, and principle above party.

Utah Emerging Leaders Forum

The UELF Pledge of Statesmanship

I solemnly pledge to uphold the principles of character, integrity, and service in all my endeavors.

I shall strive to conduct myself above reproach, placing principle before ambition, character before influence, and service before self.

I shall place the welfare of my community and country above personal interest, and the common good above partisan allegiance.

I shall treat those with whom I disagree with dignity and respect, recognizing that true leadership demands humility, civility, and moral courage.

Above all, I pledge to lead by example, to exercise influence with responsibility, and to pursue not merely the position of a leader, but the character of a statesman.

Character Before Influence. Service Above Self. Principle Above Party.
